TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Starting as a four-day conference in California in 1984, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Sir Richard Branson, Isabel Allende, Malcom Gladwell, Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala, Jane Goodall, Philippe Starck and Gordon Brown. TED’s media initiatives include TED.com, where new TEDTalks are posted daily, and the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as the ability for any TEDTalk to be translated by volunteers worldwide.
TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world are given the opportunity to put their wishes into action; TEDx, which offers individuals or groups a way to host local, self-organized events around the world, and the TEDFellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.

At a TEDx event, TEDTalks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. All knowledge is connected and TEDx has become the place where you can discover leading edge thinking in numerous fields, and how this relates to your own life and work. For many attendees, the result is delicious, unexpected connections; extraordinary insights and powerful inspiration.

In the country I live in, there are unwritten set rules for what everyone should be interested in and what they should apply themselves to doing. This has resulted to the mundane being the order of the day. Nobody dares to do things differently or creatively.
But this is changing with time. People are starting to let their creative sides shine through. We see people come out of school and say they do not want regular jobs but want to focus on art, humanities or an eclectic fusion as their source of living.
I drew inspiration from this changing trend. It is inspiring and downright amazing what one can do with ones talents. Formal education and teachings should not construct for us shackles of ridgidity in our lives and society. They should instead help hone our skills to be profitable to us.
I decided to organise a TEDx event to get this message across from my lowly podium and enlist the help of people that have dared to be different to make the message heard.
This is your opportunity to align yourselves with a forward thinking event that is tied to an internationally recognized brand that draws an audience from around the world. The entrepreneurial community is swelling; next generation ideas are taking shape across the city. Now is the time to get your name recognized as a supporter of the new and the meaningful. National and state-led initiatives are creating a hospitable environment for generational technologies that will spread beyond their initial conception to shape the world of tomorrow. These initiatives rely on supporting events to excite the community about the growth taking place. TEDxStadiumRoad is one of such supporting event.
Like all new ideas, we need support from the business community to make this event possible. As a sponsor, your organization will be seen as recognizing the potential of others, believing in the possibilities, ideas and goals demonstrated in the best and brightest amongst us.
